Residence, permission to work, a visa and a residence card serve different purposes. Start with your circumstances, then plan the stages that apply.

A job offer or a newly registered company is a starting point for planning a move to Bulgaria. Neither establishes the whole immigration route. Before collecting certificates or booking appointments, work out which rules apply to your nationality, current status and intended activity.
Citizens of the EU, EEA and Switzerland follow a different framework from citizens of other countries. Family members also need an individual assessment: their nationality, relationship and the status of the person they are joining affect the procedure.
For a work-based move, describe the actual role, employer and working arrangement. Employment, self-employment, a company management role and an intra-company transfer should not be treated as interchangeable. Registering a Bulgarian company alone does not give its owner residence rights.
Permission to work, a long-stay visa, residence permission and the document confirming residence have different functions. Depending on the route and your existing status, the process may involve employer documents, an initial approval, a consular application, entry into Bulgaria, a residence application and a separate card stage. Some work routes coordinate several decisions within one procedure.
Ask for a written sequence showing who acts at each stage and what must happen first. Confirm when personal attendance is needed and which authority receives each application. Do not assume that submitting an application authorises you to start work.
Finish the plan with the steps after a decision: any card application, required updates and future renewal preparation. ARG can assess the route and organise the agreed application work. The competent authorities decide the outcome, and requests for additional evidence may change the practical schedule.
